After serving as executive director of Enterprise Infrastructure on an interim basis since June, Dave Kelly has accepted the position permanently. Chris Lawrence was named director of Technology Platform Services (TPS), and Seth Clarke will lead the TPS Cloud and OS Team.

After a competitive internal search, Chris Clough accepted the position of IT director for the College of Education. Clough will spend 50% of his time on IT director responsibilities for the college and continue his 50% role as IT director for the Division of Student Life.

After a successful, competitive search the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) has hired Jonna Higgins-Freese as its new senior IT director. Her start date is Dec. 1. 

Lance Bolton has accepted the position of senior director for campus partnerships and collaboration.

University of Iowa staff who have demonstrated strong leadership at various stages of their careers in information technology organizations were presented with IT Leadership Awards at the UI Tech Forum on June 5 at the Iowa Memorial Union.

Dave Kelly, director of Technology Platform Services in Enterprise Infrastructure, will become interim director of the department on June 30, reporting to Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer Steve Fleagle.

Ed Hill has been named executive director of Administrative Information Systems (AIS) in Information Technology Services. Hill has more than 30 years of information technology experience, nearly all at the University of Iowa.

Tracy Scott will take on the role of departmental leader for ITS Enterprise Services (ES), effective March 1, reporting to Associate Vice President and CIO Steve Fleagle. Scott has demonstrated strong leadership skills at the helm of Service Management and Support (SMS) in ES since 2016 and was promoted to senior IT director in 2019.

Katie Kahler has accepted the position of chief of staff in the Office of the CIO. Kahler has served as a senior project manager in Information Technology Services since 2017. She will onboard to her new role this month and officially transition on Jan. 3.
