The new OneIT Governance process went live in February 2025. After seeking community feedback of the new process, updates were made to the OneIT governance process in February 2026.
The OneIT governance process supports transparency and informed decision making for IT initiatives across the university, while improving alignment of priorities with Information Technology Services (ITS), OneIT and campus partners.
OneIT Governance Goals
OneIT governance provides:
Enhanced transparency
Broadened OneIT engagement
Coordinated technology planning
Synchronization with university strategy and efforts
Improved prioritization
Management of institutional risk
Governance Committees
The OneIT governance process utilizes an executive committee and a technical committee. The OneIT Executive Committee prioritizes projects and advises on resourcing and scheduling, while the OneIT Technical Committee evaluates technical sufficiency and alignment with campus architecture.
Project Governance Process
The Project Governance Process is a five-phase process that guides IT initiatives through the stages of governance. The five phases in the process are: pre-initiation, initiation, planning, implementation, and closeout.
