After a successful, competitive search the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) has hired Jonna Higgins-Freese as its new senior IT director. Her start date is Dec. 1.
Since 2020, Higgins-Freese has served as director of Instructional Services in the ITS Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology. She brings a wide range of experience to this important role, including a stint as registrar of Cornell College, where she implemented their first online registration system, and a variety of roles at ACT, including director of new growth initiatives.
“Jonna is an outstanding communicator and strategic leader who is a particularly good fit for CLAS,” says Josh Weiner, associate dean for research in CLAS. “In addition to having a liberal arts educational background, she is also a published poet and essayist, with a novel forthcoming.”
Higgins-Freese will report to Weiner and to Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer Steve Fleagle.
