Jonna Higgins-Freese has been hired to lead the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology Instructional Services team, formerly directed by Annette Beck.

As director, Higgins-Freese will manage the daily work, planning, and cross-functional teams for multiple enterprise instructional technology services including the campus-wide learning management system (ICON), academic technology consulting, and the University of Iowa Learning Design Collaboratory initiative.

Higgins-Freese has a wealth of experience in educational technology, having served as registrar at Cornell College, product manager and program director for ACT Compass, and on the New Product Development team at ACT, where she led Agile development and cross-functional operations teams to ideate, test, and iterate new learning, workforce, and educational navigation products.

Higgins-Freese holds a bachelor's degree with majors in English and French from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School.
