Associate Vice President & Chief Information Officer Steve Fleagle is having conversations with collegiate/administrative IT leaders and their supervisors to move forward with a key OneIT objective, which is to create a unified IT organizational structure for campus to improve coordination and collaboration across the IT community.
The senior IT person in each organization will have a dual reporting relationship to the CIO. Units will retain primary responsibility for things like performance appraisals, hiring, and budgets. The CIO's role will be to have input into those processes and to ensure unit involvement in technology issues and initiatives that have campus-wide impact. The goal is to complement the existing strong relationships IT leaders have within their units while strengthening the OneIT community. We are also discussing how to affiliate IT staff that aren’t currently reporting to an IT organization.
