The Operations Team approved closeout of the OneIT Network Redesign Project at its June 12 meeting. The project focused on consolidation and standardization of campus networks and infrastructure, networking policies and procedures, and oversight and administration of various campus networks.
The OneIT Data Center and Server Consolidation Project achieved closeout at the June 12 Operations Team meeting as the project team reported on successes including $1 million in annual savings from decommissioning 31 server rooms.

The OneIT HR Process Project achieved closeout as the team reported out on completion of the skills inventory sub-project. Nearly 500 OneIT staff completed the skills inventory, which provided a more accurate, complete view of the skills and technical interests of IT professionals at UI.
The OneIT End User Support Project recently completed implementations with the College of Public Health and the College of Dentistry. Planning is underway in the College of Engineering.

As the Extended Technical Support (ETS) team grows to serve more units on campus, a “team lead” approach has been adopted to provide structure and to spread out supervisory responsibilities. ETS recently named four more team leads.
