To ensure the skills of our IT workforce meet current and future institutional needs, the SPARK experiential learning program has been operationalized and continues to grow. Five staff broadened their skillsets and expanded their professional networks through job shadowing “observations” and 12 did so in “immersions” that allow them to learn by trying out a different role for a longer period of time. Dozens participated in a series of departmental open houses showcasing career opportunities. Another professional development project is the IT Academy, to be modeled after an IT training program at Harvard University. It was delayed due to resource constraints but will be revisited in the year ahead.
To cultivate a workforce culture of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, a DEI plan will be developed and incorporated into the revised OneIT Strategic Plan, building upon existing DEI efforts.
