OneIT is taking a unit-by-unit approach to implementing OneIT initiatives in 13 remaining units by summer 2018. The focus for the unit-by-unit approach is on End User Support, Data Centers and Servers, and Classroom IT Support.
The new OneIT Operations Team held its first four meetings, and the ITS Leadership Team and OneIT Steering Committee held wrap-up sessions this month.

As outlined in a new overview, OneIT is transitioning from a collection of efficiency projects to operating as a unified IT organization. In a series of retreats, IT leaders from each campus unit developed a shared vision with plans and goals in four areas: Governance, Organizational Structure, Culture, and People (how we recruit, retain, and cultivate IT talent). These organizational goals are designed to create a more cohesive, easy experience for IT customers, enable us to maximize the impact of IT investment and better meet the needs of interdisciplinary activities, and allow us to learn from each other.
We're holding a series of events Nov. 14-17 to describe and answer questions about the OneIT@Iowa organizational strategy, a shared vision developed by IT leaders from each campus unit during a series of retreats this year.

As part of task force recommendations to elevate the role of human resources on campus, the Information Management/Human Resources (IM/HR) workgroup is transitioning into ITS-Administrative Information Systems.
This week the Information Security and Policy Office announced a reorganization, through which Enterprise Services staff responsible for IT accessibility services and support will join the department and two new workgroups will be formed. The office is also currently advertising a new senior IT security analyst position.
