As the Extended Technical Support (ETS) team grows to serve more units on campus, a “team lead” approach has been adopted to provide structure and to spread out supervisory responsibilities.

Each lead provides supervision, technical guidance, and mentorship to a team of five to seven support staff. They also continue to provide IT support to the groups to which they were previously assigned.

ETS recently named four more team leads. Andy Evans, Nick Carino-Marek, and Nicole Mier will help with collegiate support efforts, and Daniel Maloy will help with administrative support efforts.

There are now seven team leads, including the original three (Eric Grimes, Chris Clough, and Ben Held).

Two more leads will be named later this spring as the remainder of colleges adopt the OneIT shared service model for technical support. A current org chart is available at https://its.uiowa.edu/about/es.
