Good progress is being made in integrating information silos by collecting data within the data warehouse, including learning data from the Unizin Data Platform, Facilities Management, procurement, travel, and student co-curricular engagement. In support of the strategy to provide robust reporting, BI, and analytics solutions to empower data-driven decision-making, several new BI projects are underway, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion analytics and reporting solutions.

Trainings and showcases will be held to increase use of PowerBI across campus, and templates will be developed to facilitate rapid analysis. To increase campus data literacy and awareness, IT will partner with HR to present a data-utilization showcase, and IT will host an institutional data day for the campus. Marketing efforts will help promote the Campus Data Portal as the authoritative source for institutional data.

To implement an effective, sustainable institutional data governance process, presentations to various campus groups have been well received, an Institutional Data Governance Committee is being formed, and data owners and stewards will be trained in their roles and responsibilities. Existing institutional data will be inventoried and classified, and data-usage standards and guidelines will be developed.

Engaging OneIT governance council leaders and repeating the business intelligence needs assessment will help assess the university’s data priorities. BI showcases for campus leadership will demonstrate current solutions and solicit ideas for new solutions.
