We’re making great strides advancing the OneIT projects, which are key to achieving the goals of TIER. With the project work well underway, we have reached a point where we can start to think more strategically about future state—our long-term vision and strategic objectives, culture, structure of the organization, and how to get there.

Approximately 30 of the university’s IT leaders gathered on Tuesday for a half-day workshop led by Professor Amy Kristof-Brown and Associate Professor Amy Colbert, both faculty in the Management and Organizations Department at the UI Tippie College of Business.

It was exciting to have a team of OneIT leaders from across campus working together to begin developing a unified vision for the future; they generated an initial list of strategic objectives for IT at the University of Iowa. In the coming weeks, we will work to refine those ideas and identify themes. The group wanted to make another pass through the list, but looks forward to sharing the ideas and seeking input more broadly.
